Post 6: Postgraduate Studies
Currently in the first semester of the third year the subject of legal psychology is taught, the topics reviewed in the classes interest me a lot. If I have to think about a subject that I would like to deepen after finishing the degree, I would like to do a postgraduate in this area.
Upon reviewing some I found a degree in Legal Psychology. He specializes in forensic psychological evaluation. Provides a general knowledge of the area of legal and forensic psychology, provides specialized tools that allow the improvement in the practice of expert psychological assessment involved in judicial processes in the context of the current Chilean justice system.
Some topics that I would like to discuss and that the course provides are the foundations of forensic psychology, the fields of application, psychological evaluations and testimony in the oral trial.
Here I could understand the different spaces and intervention processes of psychologists to properly develop the expert activity in the context of the current justice system. And acquire comprehensive skills and competencies to improve the forensic practice of the psychological evaluation in areas of diverse nature involved in judicial processes.
The postgraduate I was reviewing is done in Chile, but it would be a dream to do a postgraduate degree related to this topic but abroad: Spain, Argentina, or European countries. So to know and compare the operation of their own prison systems. Finally, I would like it to be a full-time face-to-face course.
I'm glad for you that you have a bit clear what do you want to specialize in. In my position I don't know in which branch will I specialize in :c
